Beyond this the gap between the genders begins to widen. For example women are more likely to read books or listen to music while men are more likely to partite in outdoor activities or go to the gym.
These results have several implications. First they suggest that there are still significant gender differences in leisure activities. This may reflect long-standing societal expectations of gender roles or it may indicate differences in preferences and interests between men and women.
