The chart shows the changes of the global drinking water hygiene situation from 2010 to 2015. It is evident that the drinking water hygiene in each country has been improving year by year since 2010. Particularly in 2013 over 90% of the global population had access to safe drinking water.
The improvement of drinking water hygiene is attributed to the enhanced environmental awareness and efforts made by governments non-governmental organizations and individuals all over the world. In recent years more water treatment plants have been constructed and more advanced water filtration technologies have been developed. People's awareness of environmental protection has also been increasing which leads to reduced pollution in water sources.
It is worth noting that although the overall situation has improved there is still a long way to go to ensure safe drinking water for everyone. Especially in some of the less developed areas the drinking water hygiene situation remains dire. Therefore continued efforts and investment are necessary to improve the drinking water hygiene situation in those areas.
In conclusion it is pleasing to see the improvement of the global drinking water hygiene situation in recent years. However we must continue to work together towards a goal of ensuring safe drinking water for everyone.
