The bar chart below shows the percentage of different types of vehicles used in a city between 2005 and 2015.
As can be seen from the chart the use of cars increased dramatically from 30% in 2005 to 50% in 2015 while the proportion of bicycles and public transportation both decreased during the same period. The Usage of Social Media among Different Age Groups
The chart ilrates the usage of social media among different age groups. It can be seen that social media is more widely used among agers and young adults while its usage is relatively low among the elderly population.
According to the data provided 96% of people aged between 18 and 24 use social media with Facebook and Instagram being the most popular platforms. Among people aged between 25 and 34 89% use social media and among them the highest usage rate is on Instagram at 66%. Among those aged between 35 and 49 Facebook is the most popular platform with a usage rate of 83%. Among those aged between 50 and 64 the usage rate of social media drops to 63% and Facebook still has the highest usage rate. Only 37% of people aged 65 and above use social media and the usage rate of Facebook among them is as high as 84%.
These data indicate that there are significant differences in the usage of social media among different age groups. As people grow older the usage of social media gradually decreases. However Facebook has been one of the most popular platforms among all age groups.
In conclusion social media has become an indispensable part of people's lives. Although the usage of social media varies among different age groups this trend seems to be developing rapidly and will continue to influence our lives and communication methods.
