Once the earthquake was over people started to gather in groups to try and figure out what to do next. Many were injured and there was a shortage of medical supplies. I knew that I had to do something to help so I started to look for a way to assist the rescue efforts.
I found a group of volunteers who were helping to pull people out of the collapsed buildings. They needed people to help carry supplies and equipment so I joined them. We worked tirelessly for days pulling people out of the rubble and bringing them to safety.
Despite the fear and devastation I felt a sense of purpose and hope as I worked to help those in need. The earthquake had brought out the best in people as we all came together to support each other in a time of crisis. Though the road to recovery was long and difficult I knew that we would make it through by working together.
