My Diary of the Epidemic
During the Spring Festival of 2020 a time that should have been filled with joyous celebrations the outbreak of the novel coronavirus made everything unnaturally quiet and calm. I think we all remember those scenes empty streets closed shops people wearing masks afraid to go out or to have any contact with others. Those images are etched deeply in my mind.
Under such cirtances my family and I had to stay home. At first I was bored because I couldn't go out with my friends go to the cinema or go to amut parks as usual. But gradually I began to experience some wonderful things.
Firstly I found that I had more time to do things I enjoyed such as reading listening to music and drawing. I also started to cook at home and I found that I unexpectedly enjoyed the process. I also came up with a fun idea every evening my family and I would choose a movie together and watch it together the "trapped" time less lonely.
Not only that I also found that I became more independent. Because we couldn't hire a housekeeper or eat out I started to learn how to do housework such as washing dishes and cleaning rooms. These were the most common housework I had done before but now I realize how important they are. Similarly I also learned how to cook by myself which made me realize the importance of independence.
Although this time was long I think it was meaningful. I am also very grateful for the experiences that the epidemic has brought me. It not only made me more mature but also made me appreciate life more.
Shanghai is the largest city in China. It is very beautiful, especially in the evening. Besides Beijing, it is also the central city of China.
There are many big companies in Shanghai. Tall buildings are the symbol of Shanghai. It has a long history, but it is also an international city.
Many foreigners successfully held the Shanghai World Expo.
My mother and I went to Shanghai during the Chinese Valentine's Day holiday. It took me more than two hours to drive from my home in Haimen to Shanghai. On the first day, we stayed in a big hotel on the 8th floor.
The next day, I stayed in the hotel to rest. My brother and I went to Nanjing Road, the most prosperous street in Shanghai. There are a lot of people walking from one store to another.
I bought two T-shirts and two pairs of trousers. For the coming summer, I bought T-shirts and pants in white, because white is my favorite color. My brother also bought some clothes.
On the third day, my mother took me to Jinjiang entertainment center. It was full of people and I played a lot of games there. I had a good time the other day.
I went to some other interesting places, such as Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Huangpu River and Shanghai International Conference Center. I forgot to do my homework in the evening. I had a full and happy holiday.
